Life is all about transitions

Droppin the DJ Synergy title. It’s time. New Year’s eve I was blessed to DJ for a group of close friends who helped me wake up from the 7 years as DJ Synergy the student and just introduce my real name, Charles Fox. The name “DJ Synergy” arose back in High School and it took time to drop the game and go with what I was given at birth. Bear with me as I get the name change propagated through  my site and the mixes section :)

¡Graduation Elation!

So I did it! I’m finally done with a bachelors of science in electrical engineering from UCLA and damn was it exhausting, in all forms, but mostly spriritually so…I always lacked the time to really delve into my music technology projects because we were too busy humping theory textbooks about semiconductors or being washed over by a sea of word vomit in the lecture halls. It was seriously depressing how infrequent we applied our knowledge, and the laboratories to do so? blegh. oh well, it’s time to leave the contageous misery backage back there in the engineering ‘ward’ and move forard :)   Don’t really have a clue whats next but I just know I need to be able to do something like http://showreel.fr or work wtith dancers and make them wearable computers that will guide the projections a la lilypad: http://web.media.mit.edu/~leah/LilyPad/   with lots and lots of phenomenal tech house booming :D

AGHASLDGHALKSDGHALSGH   I’M  FREEEEE!

New in my life

I’m sorry to say with homework and different drama recently I haven’t been able to finish a Miami WMC gallery or blogpost, but I do have some morsels to share with you. There’s this badass tool called Photosynth by Microsoft that allows you to take many pictures of a particular environment and then create a fluid panorama of it that you can “step through”. The plugin needed to view the following two links is totally worth it, so check out the view from my hotel in Miami and that of my pimpstress friends’ on the 56th top suite:

Also, I’m currently cooking up a new mix for you guys that will feature the sounds of a Roland Handsonic 10. What’s that you say? Well it’s a kickass electronic hand drum with velocity-sensitive MIDI triggering as well as 60 built in sample kits. Peep the armada that will bring your sonic assault:

Below are two videos of a project called G-Speak by Oblong Studios. Its pretty jaw dropping and although I can’t imagine it being comfortable for long periods of use, how incredible!
